Know what's awesome? Costco. Even better? Having a roommate that likes all the same stuff as you! We loaded up a cart and then a zipcar with food stuffs, bulk household items, beverages... you name it, we got it. We didn't exactly plan for hauling the loot from the car to the apartment, but luckily a nice neighbor helped us out. Felt very suburbran.

If you haven't been here, you're missing out. Artichoke Pizza has a couple of locations, but this hole in the wall is on 14th Street between 1st and 2nd Ave. Tara and I trekked downtown to pick up an air conditioner she bought on Craigslist, and couldn't resist this temptation. Also, they were apparently filming a TV special for The Food Network. Film equipment was strewn all over the street and the little shop, and crew members shuffled pedestrians around the sidewalk. Wonder when it will be on...

RAT. Whenever I see one of these, I am immediately taken back to that horrible Spring 2006 semester at NYU when the grad students took over Washington Square Park with their woes. I was not a fan. This guy, however, was conveniently placed three feet from the Fulton Street subway stairs, blocking all traffic and frightening many commuters emerging from the tunnels. Well done!

Icia's visiting! Obviously we got tickets to a Yanks game, which turned out to be quite soggy. Little did we know that a strong downpour is a great way to start a series against the Sox - 5 homers, and no one injured! Good game :).

Babysat this handsome fella tonight and realized... I haven't been alone with an actual infant since I was a kid myself. Either he is a miracle baby or I'm the baby whisperer, because he was a dream. We mostly watched the Olympics and discussed how diaper technology has really come a long way in the last ten years.

You may remember that earlier in the week some of us brought in snacks for a team meeting. I brought a bottle of the Baideme Family reserve to share. I forgot about it all week until the Receptionist sent an email this afternoon reminding us to remove all items from the fridge. Thus, with Allie's Birthday Cake Oreos (you read that correctly), Happy Hour at the office began.

5 of 6 Posse girls were able to gather at Maryse and Laura's this evening for a little wining and dining. Maury was feeling sick so we kept it low key, watching the Olympics and sharing stories about our week. We ordered pizza from Artichoke Pizza, which was obvious delicious. The surprise was their fabulous mixed salad. Picture sort of renders a description unnecessary. YUM.

Street fairs on 116th Street are about as common as ... Saturdays. Sesi and I walked through this one as it was shutting down. I'm not sure who would go on a rickety carnival ferris wheel in the first place, but it was the first ride to be taken apart. The bubbles added some needed magic.
